APG Arbor & Earth Day Celebration - April 29. Mayor Bennett and Councilwoman Young visited APG for a celebration sponsored by the Garrison APG Commander and Environmental Staff. Tree City USA presented Aberdeen Proving Ground the Tree City Growth Award in recognition for their commitment to the environment. The Mayor and Councilwoman were delighted to show their support and participated in ceremonial tree plantings.
Mayor Bennett visits St. Joan of Arc Parish. On Sunday, April 27, Mayor Bennett presented a Certificate of Appreciation from the Council and the Citizens of Aberdeen to Kyle William Dowdy for acheiving the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. Kyle has worked diligently on the beautification of the area surrounding St. Joan of Arc Church. He and his family are residents of Aberdeen.
Mayor Bennett Hosts Ministerial Gathering at City Hall. Mayor Bennett met with many of the local Aberdeen Pastors on the morning of Saturday, April 26, over coffee and donuts to exchange information, discuss their vision for the City, and to get more acquainted with each other. It was also an opportunity for the Mayor to thank them for their support and efforts throughout the years.
Annual Service Awards. Mayor Bennett, Councilmembers, and other City Officials recognized 18 City Employees during a breakfast on April 18. All were given Savings Bonds for their years of dedicated service ranging from 5 to 35 years. Congratulations!
City awarded Community Legacy Grant - March 13. Councilman Michael Hiob, Director of Planning and Community Development Phyllis Grover and Police Chief Randy Rudy traveled to Dundalk to accept an award of a Community Legacy Grant from
